Oklahoma Needs Our Help
My heart goes out to the victims of the deadly tornado that devastated Moore, Oklahoma. How awful it must be to lose loved ones and then have to face the struggle of rebuilding a life without them. I can't imagine what it's like and hope I never have to.
As Americans, it's times like this that brings out the best in all of us. Argue as we do, when it comes to joining together and helping out in a natural disaster, we're there.
For those of you who want to do something, I say donate money. It always helps, and you don't have to send a lot. $5 or $10 makes a big difference when a lot of people do it. Contact the American Red Cross 800-733-2767 and tell them you want to send money. They'll be glad to help you out.
Donate blood. I bet you're thinking that's a silly idea. "What good will that do?" you ask. "I'm here, and they're in Oklahoma." The answer: The American Red Cross will collect and send your blood to Oklahoma. That's what they do. That's their job.
Did you know that one pint of blood can save three lives? Visit http://www.redcrossblood.org/ and find a place in your area to donate your pint of blood. An hour out of your life can mean so much to those in need.
Let's do what we do best—help others.
